Aldershot offers French from grade 9 to 12.  These courses provide opportunities for students to communicate and interact in French, with increasing independence, and a focus on familiar topics related to their daily lives.  Students will develop their skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing by using language learning strategies introduced in the elementary program, and will apply creative and critical thinking skills in various ways. They will also enhance their understanding and appreciation of diverse French-speaking communities, and will develop skills necessary for lifelong language learning.

Students who continue on to grade 12 French will have the opportunity to write the DELF (Diplôme d'études en langue française) exam.  Students who are successful on the DELF exam will receive an internationally recognized language certification.  For more information on DELF, please consult the DELF Canada website.
