Police Warn of Dangers Associated with 'Assassins' Game

Dear families of students in Grade 7-12,

We wish to bring to your attention a matter concerning the safety of students across Halton. Today, Halton Regional Police Service issued a news release cautioning Halton residents about a game known as the “Assassins” Game that is being played by youth across the region. This game has the potential to create an unsafe situation at school and within the community.

Please view the news release from Halton Regional Police Service for important information.

We want to clarify that this game is not sanctioned by the Halton District School Board or any of our schools. As this unsanctioned activity has been known to involve the use of replica weapons, we remind all students and families that possession of replica weapons is a significant violation of the HDSB Code of Conduct. Violation of the Code of Conduct will result in appropriate consequences in accordance with our progressive discipline policies.

As always, the safety of our students and staff is our highest priority. Thank you for your support as we work together to maintain safe learning environments for all students.

If you have questions or concerns about this matter at school, please contact your school principal.

Sincerely,

Halton District School Board
